Aviation Technology benefits

The Aviation Technology Certificate Program prepares students for professional careers in aviation maintenance, allowing graduates to seek employment with airlines, fixed base operators, or aircraft manufacturers. ������Ƶ is an FAA approved training facility. (NSUT025K)

Students in this program will

Students will learn on actual aircraft, structures, and powerplants and related systems. The curriculum includes one summer session and covers a wide variety of subjects concerned with airplanes including reciprocating engines, turbines, fuel systems, propellers, ignition, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems. Interested students should note that the program requires frequent reading, along with the ability to interpret FAA regulations and manufacturers’ technical specifications.

New 18-Credit Certificate Begins Fall 2022

The certificate is designed for peer helpers and volunteers who want to begin a pathway to professional credentials, which can lead to full time employment in the field with benefits. As a stackable credential, students can also roll credits into a two-year human services associate degree or four-year program. The certificate also complements a psychology degree pathway.

Certificate classes are flexible, and include online, hybrid (online and in-person mix), and on-campus courses. Students with prior college credit, work, or volunteer experience in the field may be eligible for additional credits toward the certificate. This is not an automatic acceptance. To be admitted into this certificate program, students must arrange for an interview with the program coordinator.

The Social Educational and Behavioral Science Department abides by the accepted national standard that recommends a minimum of two years of sobriety for any prospective trainee in the field of alcohol and other drug-use counseling.

Addiction Recovery Support Worker Certificate

After completion of the 18 credit addiction recovery support worker certificate students will be assisted with further instructions in contacting the state licensing board regarding CRSW certification, and meeting additional requirements. These include 500 hours of paid or volunteer work and completion of an exam required by the IC&RC.

The Honda Automotive Technology program, otherwise known as PACT (Professional Automotive ������Ƶ) is a partnership among ������Ƶ, American Honda Motor Co., Inc. and Honda/Acura Dealers.

This certificate is designed to train students for employment in Honda/Acura dealerships and to prepare them for ASE Master certification.

The training includes classroom theory, hands-on lab work, an internship at a dealer and general education components. The technical instruction at the College is conducted in a professionally equipped, modern facility.

American Honda supplies the program with vehicles, special tools, and access to technical data.

Upon the completion of the degree in Honda Automotive Technology, graduates will be able to:

1. Evaluate, diagnose, and repair various automotive systems using ASE guidelines.
2. Use technology and basic scientific principles for research and diagnostics.
3. Employ industry relevant��written and oral communication skills.
4. Identify ethical repair procedures based on multiple factors.
5. Be able to achieve ASE Master Certification after an additional year in the field.

In addition, the graduate will be able to demonstrate competency in the general education outcomes.

In addition to the general admission requirements, the PACT Program applicants should be aware of the following criteria:

1. A minimum of one year of high school algebra is recommended. Basic skills in written English are required.
2. A basic automotive tool kit and roll cabinet are required.��
3. After successfully completing all coursework in the first semester with a 2.0 GPA, students are then qualified for an internship. Students must maintain a CGPA of 2.0 to remain on internship.
4. All PACT students are required to complete the internship.
5. All PACT internships carry a per credit tuition charge.
6. Students must be matriculated into the PACT program to take HATN courses.
7. A copy of a valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required for admission to the PACT program. (See PACT Program Coordinator for details.)

The 25 credit Collision Repair Certificate Program will prepare students for entry-level positions in the collision repair industry. Students will learn through various theory and hands-on activities including, but not limited to: Safety, sheet metal repair, bolted panel removal and replacement, welding, surface preparation, spray gun use, application of paint finishes, basic electrical theory, and HVAC operation and service.

The Collision Repair Certificate program is complimentary to the Collision Repair Technology Associate Degree. Students can continue as second year students in the Associate Degree Collision Repair Technology program.

Overview

This certificate in Automotive Service and Repair will provide the graduates with the skills to be an entry-level technician in the automotive field. The Certificate will cover courses traditionally presented in the first year of an Associate of Science in the Automotive Technology degree program. The program will target both full and part-time students.

An Automotive Service and Repair certificate program will give students a choice between the full degree program with its general education courses and advanced diagnostic classes of the second year of the Degree program and possible no post-secondary education at all. An automotive technology curriculum expands career opportunities for ������Ƶ students without major increases in resources and fits well with the College’s current Mission and Strategic Plan. While students earning this certificate could be eligible for immediate employment or career advancement in the field of automotive service, power sports, and equipment repair; the program would also provide students with an excellent introduction to a related Associate degree.

Day/Evening Progam

This certificate will prepare students to become machine operators in the machine tool industry. The courses involved in this certificate program can be applied to the CNC diploma or the Associate Degree in Advanced Machine Tool Technology.

In addition to the general admission requirements, the applicant should be aware of the following criteria:

1. An aptitude in mathematics is beneficial.
2. Good skills in written English are required.

The data analytics associates degree program at ������Ƶ prepares students for further study in data analytics and related degrees.�� The degree program combines a solid academic background in data analytics along with associated mathematics and computer science courses.

��This program is great if you already have a college degree and are interested in changing into the cybersecurity field. It is also good if you are working in IT and wish to transition into the cybersecurity specialty. ��A State Police criminal check is the responsibility of students and may be required for clinical fieldwork and/or employment upon request of an agency.

Applicants who have had difficulty with the law depending on the nature of the problem may not be employable or even eligible for fieldwork. Applicants need to discuss these matters in an interview with the Department Chair to determine future direction.

Our two internship courses integrate experiential learning opportunities and form the cornerstone of the NCC Human Services program. Students begin to experience success in a different environment using organization, team building, and communication skills. These experiences can be the defining moment for many students as they see the importance of what they are studying and why it is important to continue their education. Students have been able to obtain part-time to full-time positions as a result of their internship training and experience.
